Driving Directions
From Johannesburg or Sandton, take the R512 past the Hartbeespoort Dam until it connects with the N4. From the N4, turn off onto the R556 toward Sun City. Continue past Sun City and take the R565 (Derdepoort road), following it for approximately 28 - 30 kilometres to the entrance of the Black Rhino Game Reserve, on the right-hand side. The road is tarred the entire way.
Please check in at the main gate, where Black Rhino Game Reserve security will provide directions to Phirima Lodge after completing your check-in. Upon request your host can meet you at the main gate no later than 20:00.
- Please remember to switch off your GPS after entering the reserve, as it may direct you onto restricted roads.

Flying In
Most guests fly into one of Johannesburg's two main airports and continue by road to the Black Rhino Game Reserve. Sun City, with its casino, the Valley of Waves water park, and the Gary Player Golf Course, lies approximately 20 minutes from the reserve gate - a convenient stop for guests wanting to extend their trip beyond the bush.
Security & Access
The Black Rhino Game Reserve is enclosed by 24-hour electrified perimeter fencing, with a manned entrance gate controlling all access and guest registration. Phirima Lodge itself sits within its own additionally fenced, private hectare inside the reserve - a secure compound for your party alone, separate from the surrounding Big Five wilderness.
